The LPGA‘s Michelob Ultra Open, will be held May 4-10 at Kingsmill on the James in Williamsburg, VA.
The event which was the top LPGA event of the 2008 season, was won last year by Annika Sorenstam. This year’s edition offers more than $2,200,000.00 million in prize money and a winner’s check of $330,000. With one of the highest purses of all tournaments on the LPGA Tour it always attracts a very competitive field.
The Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill is an annual golf tournament, originating in 2003, for professional female golfers which takes place every May on the LPGA Tour. The final round is traditionally played on Mother’s Day
It is a 4-day, 72-hole tournament is played on the 6,306 yard River Course at Kingsmill.

Both Golf World and Travel + Leisure GOLF magazine awarded Kingsmill Resort & Spa top honors for having some of the best golf courses and golfing opportunities in the country. This recognition comes just days after GOLF Magazine honored Kingsmill as one of the country’s top 25 golf schools. Golf World’s 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards placed Kingsmill among the top 10 Resort Courses in the country. The recognition was based on criteria ranging from the quality of the courses to the accommodations and practice facilities. “We’re honored by the survey results, and we think it proves Kingsmill is a golfer’s paradise,” said Wayne Nooe, vice president of golf operations at the resort.
