Molasses Creek will perform as part of the Rotary Club of James City County’s 2009 Charity Concert Series at 7 p.m. Aug. 22. Based on Ocracoke Island, off the coast of North Carolina, this high-energy acoustic folk fusion band delights audiences with foot-stomping bluegrass, ballads and a bit of wacky humor. Funds raised for the Club’s Charitable Foundation will help support many programs and services provided to deserving citizens in the greater Williamsburg community. All are seats $18.
Molasses Creek has been a featured performer at First Night Raleigh, hosted the grand finale at First Night Williamsburg, and graced the stage at the national First in Flight Centennial Celebration, which commemorated the 100th anniversary of flight by Wilbur and Orville Wright.” In April of 2008, Molasses Creek opened for Garrision Keillor’s performance of “Lake Wobegone Days” in Greenville, NC.
