11/12/09- York County has declared a local state of emergency, effective at 11 a.m. today, due to the impacts of the current Nor’easter event. A number of flood prone areas of the County have experienced flooding today and County officials would like to warn residents of low-lying areas of the possibility of additional higher flooding as the storm continues to bring high tides, rain and high winds to the region. In particular, occupants of residences and business in low lying flood prone areas are encouraged to consider moving to higher ground. Residents should diligently monitor weather forecasts to stay updated on any changes in the local weather conditions. Residents should tune to cable channel 46, local news and radio stations as well as WXGM 99.1 for additional updates.
