Most Expensive Home Sales in Hampton Roads in 2009

Are you wondering about Hampton Roads VA real estate and pondering what has sold recently? If you are curious about the homes of the Rich and Famous in the area read on..

What follows is information on  the most expensive home sales in Hampton Roads, VA  in 2009  This includes  Va Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth,Franklin, Sussex, Southhampton, Emporia, Greenville, Mathews, Suffolk, Surry, Smithfield, Newport News, Hampton , Poquoson, Gloucester and York County .  All information was obtained through REIN ( the Real Estate Information Network)

 

Overall, there were 102 Hampton Roads home sales topping $1 million during 2009, a few less than the 135 homes that sold for $1,000,000 + in 2008.

Currently, there are 315 homes on the market in Hampton Roads  Virginia with list prices topping $1 million.

2009  MOST EXPENSIVE SALES

  • #1- Located at 4545 COMMERCE STREET , VA Beach , VA 23462- Westin Residences at Town Center, A unit here sold for  $4,120,320. Making it the highest priced transaction in 2009. The Westin Va Beach Town Center Residences offer unparalleled vistas of the region. The 119 luxury condominiums range from 800 SF to 4,000 SF TownCenter04_tnand include features  such as nine-foot ceilings, breathtaking balconies and convenient covered parking. Residents are able to enjoy the hotel’s amenities such as concierge, maid and room services, spa, health club facilities and valet parking.

      • #2 on the list was 7808 OCEAN FRONT AVENUE, VA Beach , Va 23451—Sold in  October 2009 for $ 3,300,000 .

        This large (5530 sq foot home) had phenomenal panoramic views of the ocean  at the North End of Va Beach  it offered 5 bedrooms, 5 full and 5 half bathrooms.

      • #3 another unit at Westin Town Center Residences. This one was a 3400 sq foot unit that sold for $ 3,165,609

      • #4  Another unit at the Westin Town Center Residences. This one was almost 4000 square feet and sold for $ 2,814,314  in July of 2009.

      • #5 -4605 OCEAN FRONT AVENUE, Another ocean front home in VA Beach this one was only on the market for 14 days and sold for $ 2,750,000 in July of 2009

      • #6 was a home in Birdneck Point in VA Beach. This has to be one of the largest price reductions this year. Originally listed for  $ 4,595,000 in April of 2008 , it sold for  $ 2,565,000 in August of 2009 . Located on deep water on a acre and a half  mini peninsula. This 6600 square foot homes was built in 2007 . Features included a  2200 bottle climate controlled wine cellar with separate tasting room , a billiards room, sensational kitchen , pool, gazebo, outdoor kitchen, a 50 ft boat dock, & a 4 Car garage.

      • #7- was located at 848 ATLANTIC AVE South in the VA Beach community of Croatan. This oceanfront Nantucket style home offered six bedrooms  4 full baths and expansive view of the ocean. Originally listed at $3,250,000 it sold for $ 2,467,000 in March of 2009

      • #8- 6406 OCEAN FRONT AVENUE, VA Beach VA 23451. Another north end home. Originally listed for $ 2,599,000 this 4000 square foot ocean front home sold for $ 2,300,000 in October of 2009 after 159 days on the market. This home was constructed in 1958 and completely rebuilt with all new windows , floors decks, kitchen, baths and much more. No expense was spared in the renovation. Panoramic views of the beach and the north end form every room.

      • #9 -1605 TRAVIS PARKWAY, Va Beach Va 23451 in the Alanton community. Listed for  $ 2,600,000 in Feb of 2009 this home sold for $2,000,000 in July of 2009. Built in 2004 and this waterfront home offered a dock large enough to to tie up a 50 ft boat ! 4600 square feet , five bedroom, and five full baths. Beautiful views of Broad Bay from the walls of windows.

      • #10- Another oceanfront home located at 662 S ATLANTIC AVE in Croatan- Va Beach . 4846 square feet , offered 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. Originally listed for $ 2,325,000 it sold for $2,000,000 in only 32 days in June of 2009
