I have been writing this blog for almost five years. Most of the posts have been inspired by questions asked of me by clients I have worked with who were looking at homes and real estate in Hampton Roads and Williamsburg VA ( wow, that’s a long sentence)
In looking at stats for my site I see that over 1000 people are reading it daily. I now beg your forgiveness in not asking what you need until now.
So dearest Reader, what do you want from me? What do you need? What would you be overjoyed to read about ? What do you want me to create ?
trust me – I’m listening. Hard, and with my heart.

Hi Mr. Williamsburg,
I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now and I think you’re doing a wonderful job.
One thing I’d like to see (or maybe you can point me in the right direction) are the pros/cons and ins/outs of purchasing a pre-built home vs. purchasing land and having a home built.
I’m one of the unfortunate ones that has learned by doing and I’ve managed to get myself in a hole (of debt) in which escape will take many, many, MANY years.
I look forward to continuing to read your blog and I hope that one day, I’ll be able to contact you with the request of finding home for me and my husband.
Thanks and Cheers!
I know you are aware of the significant impact that Chinese Drywall is having on many home owners. I would like to bring to your attention that even those owners who do not have the drywall in their homes are going to be significantly hurt if the drywall is in their development. In cases like mine (condo owners), the drywall can be in one or more units in a multiunit condo building, or even in another multiunit building other than my building, but not in my unit (as in my case) This can drastically reduce the sale price or even make it impossible to sell. This in addition to the loss in value due to the current economic situation is potentially catastrophic. Do you have any suggestions?
Charles,
This same occured in the Southside. There the builder stepped up and is replacing the drywall in the affected units. Have there been any discussions with the builder ? Have you formed a group to explore options ? Do you have an attorney ?
The Dragas Co s. spent more than $5 million to fix 73 condos in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach built with tainted Chinese drywall.
The company also paid to relocate residents while work was done.
