Homerama 2009 Culpepper Landing Chesapeake Va Real Estate

Three types of homes are features in this years Homerama. They include:
Cottages: capped at $350,000 range from 1,800 to 2,000 square feet.
Heritage homes: capped at $425,000 range from 2,000 to 2,600 square feet
Legacy homes: capped at $500,000 range between 2,400 square feet or larger.

Among the showcase homes will be the region’s first “Easy Living” certified home, designed to be adaptable to a homeowners changing needs. Also, a certified green modular home and other green features throughout the community and the homes.

The Charity House will benefit Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. Other homes are designed to showcase traditional family themes, such as Thanksgiving House, a Christmas House and a Bright Idea House, among others.

The site is reminiscent of classic neighborhoods of the past, said Tim Culpepper, whose family has owned the property since 1926. It will include a “mercantile district” with commercial amenities, a pool and clubhouse, as well as a canoe landing and walking trails that take advantage of the natural amenities nearby.

The 488-acre site includes 150 acres designated as a dedicated conservation area. The community, which borders the historic Dismal Swamp Canal on the east and the 111,000-acre Great Dismal Swamp wildlife refuge on the south, recently earned a River Star designation from the Elizabeth River Project, one of only two communities ever to receive this designation.
