Free Symphony Concert in Williamsburg @ Matoaka Amphitheater

Celebrate a new school year, good friends, and living in Williamsburg

LakeMatoakaamphitheater Join your neighbors and friends at a free concert performed by the Virginia Symphony (VSO) at William & Mary’s Lake Matoaka Amphitheatre on Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. The performance is co-sponsored by the City of Williamsburg and William & Mary. 

VSO Associate Conductor Matthew Kraemer will conduct the concert that will include Aaron Copland’s "Hoedown from Rodeo," Beethoven’s "Pastorale," "Broadway Tonight," "Salute to the Armed Forces," and the sounds of Ray Charles, The Beatles, Big Bands and Billy Joel. 

Bring your family and friends, picnic baskets, beach chairs and blankets.
The concert at Lake Matoaka is one of four free concerts that the Symphony is giving as a prelude to their new season. For information about all VSO concerts and tickets, visit www.virginiasymphony.org.

  • From I-64 traveling West (from the Peninsula)

    Take Exit 242, Route 199, toward Jamestown. After about 5 miles, turn right onto Jamestown Rd. After about 2 miles, you will pass Lake Matoaka on your left, then turn left onto Ukrop’s Way. Park in the parking deck on your left (free) and use the walkway through the woods to the amphitheatre.

    From I-64 traveling East (from Richmond)

    Take Exit 234, Route 199, and turn right at the top of the exit. After about 8 miles, turn left onto Jamestown Rd. After about 2 miles, you will pass Lake Matoaka on your left, then turn left onto Ukrop’s Way. Park in the parking deck on your left (free) and use the walkway through the woods to the amphitheatre
