The featured speaker will be Dustin Allison, a first lieutenant with the Utah Army National Guard and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran. The musical program includes prelude music by bagpiper James Boyer followed by the Toano Saxophone Ensemble, Jack Tuttle, city manager, will serve as master of ceremonies, and the invocation will be delivered by retired Army Brig. Gen. Jerry Fields. Patriotic songs performed by local singers will include “The Star-Spangled Banner,” sung by Alberta Faber; “America the Beautiful,” sung by Gayla Johnson; “This Is My Country,” sung by Roseanne Brennan; and “The Last Full Measure of Devotion.” sung by Ben Machinist. Air Force veteran Eric Horne will sing his original song, “An American.” The popular “God Bless the U.S.A.” will again be sung by retired Army 1st Sgt. Ray Gresham. “He brings the house down,” said Ben Machinist, a local veteran who participates in the ceremony. The Pledge of Allegiance will be led by members of the VFW Ladies’Auxiliaries and will also include placing of a memorial wreath, a rifle salute and the playing of “Taps” and “Amazing Grace.” Those wishing to attend are asked to be seated by 9:45 a.m. for the prompt 10 a.m. start. |
