Soon, you’ll have another ice cream store to choose from in Williamsburg, VA This one specializes in chocolate. Kilwins  is scheduled to open in High Street next weekend. If you have a sweet tooth, you probably already know about Kilwin’s. The family-owned shop features homemade ice cream, candy and confections. If you’re looking for a quick indulgence  stop in for an ice cream cone, homemade fudge and a full line of handmade chocolates all made fresh in the store.

The Mexican Restaurant War is on, Plaza Azteca, the  second restaurant to open in High Street after Five Guys, opened for business Nov. 29 and one of many Mexican restaurants in the Williamsburg VA area. This local favorite is sure to be a hit . As soon as we get some warm weather they will offer outdoor seating on the patio.

The Sub Wars are on !  Firehouse Subs will be the next food offering to  open at High Street . We were invited to taste their subs prior to their opening next week. I will let you know next week what to expect. Firehouse is located in the High Street building on Richmond Rd. You can access it from the front or the back The address is 1430 Richmond Rd, Suite #1105.

William Tilley, the Local franchisee owner, is welcoming all of Williamsburg to  enjoy their restaurant & Community atmosphere.

Firehouse Subs, is a US-based, restaurant chain that specializes in hot subs. Founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida by former firefighter brothers Robin and Chris Sorensen,Firehouse Subs serves sandwiches with meats and cheeses, “steamed” hot and placed on produce on a toasted sub roll. Locations offer a family-oriented atmosphere, with a firefighter theme that includes fire equipment throughout the store and a menu that features sandwiches with themed names. They offer hot sauces in a range of intensities. Pictures mounted on the walls highlight local firefighting history, as well as the founder’s history of firefighting service.

The stores opening date has been set for Dec. 14, 2009

Across from High Street the new Chipotle Grill restaurant is being  built. Located at the corner of Bypass Rd. and Richmond Rd., where the Rodeway Inn used to stand. It is  expected to open in the beginning of 2010. Chipotle Mexican Grill is a chain of restaurants specializing in burritos and tacos. The restaurant is known for its large burritos, assembly line production, and commitment to natural ingredients. Chipotle is one of the first chains in the relatively new category of fast-casual dining establishments. In the past, McDonald’s Corporation owned a majority interest in Chipotle. McDonald’s has since sold their entire stake in Chipotle.
