Before Busch Gardens Williamsburg opens to the public for the season, they throw open the gates, roll out the red carpet, and allow season pass members an exclusive sneak peek at the park.
This years preview day is March 20, 2010
Celebrity wildlife expert Jack Hanna is back with his animal entourage. Visitors to the park can spend some time with him and a few of his furry friends at a delicious all-you-care-to-eat breakfast or lunch, or check out one of his amazing animal shows happening throughout the day.
Highlights of events for the 2010 season at Busch Gardens Include:
IllumiNights: A Busch Gardens Encore as we bring guest’s experiences to life in a celebration that’s unique for each country will celebrate in its own unique way, culminating in a park-wide pyrotechnics extravaganza
Ramp Jam For the first time in the park’s 35-year history Busch Gardens will host the ASA Action Sports World Tour. For three weekends in May, Busch Gardens will be the place to see the top athletes in skateboard, BMX and in-line skating performing extreme stunts and tricks.
Highland Stables New for 2010, Busch Gardens’ Highland Stables feature Scottish Blackface Sheep, Border Collies, Clydesdales and birds of prey. This all-new exhibit highlights Scottish traditions dating back hundreds of years. Guests can interact with the Scottish animals and see them in action as they perform traditional herding and hunting techniques.
2010 EVENT SERIES:
Funky Physics Show (April 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4 and 11) This high-energy, hip-hop show about the physics of motion combines all aspects of motion in a theme park setting.
Glory at the Gardens (June 6, 13, 20 and 27) Come to Busch Gardens this season and hear rockin’ music in a beautiful park. Contemporary Christian bands, such as Steven Curtis Chapman, will perform four Sundays in June.
Fourth of July Fireworks The world’s “Most Beautiful Park” explodes with even more brilliant color as fireworks illuminate the skies during the park’s annual Fourth of July celebration, “Boom ‘n July.” The fireworks can be seen from several viewing points in the park July 2 – 4.
Concert Series (July 10 – 11, 17 – 18, 24 – 25, July 31- Aug. 1, 7- 8, 14 – 15, 21 – 22) Seven weekends of great music during the summer featuring an amazing lineup of rockin’ musicians, such as Grand Funk Railroad, Creedence Clearwater Revisited and the B-52s.
NASA Exploration Days (August 13 & 14) Train like an astronaut and experience what it’s like to live and work in space when NASA Langley Research Center presents “NASA Exploration Day” at Busch Gardens. Wild Days (Aug. 28 and 29) In August, interact with animals from SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment and meet world-class animal ambassadors.
