Art on The Square Williamsburg VA 2010

The Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg will be hosting their 47th annual Spring Art Show, Art on the Square, Sunday, April 25th, 2010 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Rain or Shine.

For over 45 years, the Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg has organized its annual spring art show to benefit numerous local charities through their Arts Donations Forum as well as a Fine Arts Scholarship. The show, held in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg in Merchant’s Square, attracts almost 250 applicants each year! Only 160 or so artists and craftsmen are selected to exhibit at the show. The annual event is dedicated to providing an art show that offers original, high-quality, handcrafted diverse mediums of art and will take place on Duke of Gloucester and Boundary Street located in Merchant’s Square.

art on the square This year’s poster art, “Fetch a Pail of Water,” marks the 12th year that local artist, Richard DePaul has donated an original watercolor to the Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg to support our fundraising efforts. The original watercolor painting along with three framed prints will be raffled off the day of the show and will be on display at the JWCW registration tent. Raffle tickets may be purchased 1/$2 or 3/$5 also at the registration tent.

Proceeds from the sale of tickets and posters are being used for our annual Fine Arts Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to local high school seniors who plan to pursue further studies in the arts

The Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg is holding their first annual Preview Night for AOTS.  This promises to be a fabulous event where ten randomly chosen AOTS artists will showcase their art in an intimate setting with wine/beer, desserts, and entertainment at the Muscarelle Museum on April 24 from 7-9pm (the evening before AOTS). Tickets are $35/person and include an AOTS poster of your choosing from previous years.

  2. I got “taken” by one of the vendors at recent ART ON THE SQUARE. Do you have a list of artist vendors who participated so I can find this photographer in Norfolk to whom I paid over $200 and he did not provide me with the art as promised, a business card or invoice receipt. I have no other way to contact this person since I did not get their name buy would recognize from your list and locations….

    Please help me out!
