Kingsmill Resort Sale Imminent…..

kingsmill williamsburg virginia A highly placed source has told the Virginia Gazette that the sale of Kingsmill Resort is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
The buyer remains a mystery. Kingsmill general manager Robin Carson did not return a reporter’s inquiry seeking confirmation. A spokesman sent a statement attributed to Busch Properties president Michael Taylor declining to “discuss rumor or speculation with regard to such transactions.”
A new potential suitor has emerged: Blackstone Group, which last year bought Busch Entertainment.
In April, other sources identified four potential buyers as a bid deadline passed. They were topped by the giant homebuilder Toll Brothers. Some people anticipated an announcement last month at a KCSA ( Kingsmill Community Services Association) meeting. Carson has been hinting at parcel gatherings that a sale is near.

UPDATE:  June 18, 2010
Doug Henkel, an executive vice president with CB Richard Ellis, confirmed that Kingsmill is "under a letter of intent," meaning a buyer has made an offer. Hinkle would not say how much was offered or who or what company had made it, citing a policy of not commenting on pending sales.
