Wonder why all the construction is going on inside the Target in the Monticello Marketplace shopping center in Williamsburg ?
By spring 2011, you’ll be able to buy apples, cheese and chicken along with cosmetics, prescriptions and pajamas.
Target has begun rolling out its p-fresh, or prototype-fresh, which include such things as bananas, strawberries and bagged lettuce, as well as ground beef, chicken and pork. Shoppers also can pick up dairy items, frozen foods and convenience items, some of which will bear the chain’s Archer Farms and Market Pantry labels.
There won’t be an in-house bakery or deli, but the renovated stores will carry a small number of baked goods and pre-packed deli items.
The Williamsburg store is undergoing a renovation to become one of the first in the region – along with Targets in Newport News and Chesapeake, VA. – with a P-Fresh.
The new grocery area in the Monticello Marketplace Target is scheduled to open at the end of March 2011, said the store’s manager.
