When one door closes, another opens, I guess this applies to restaurants in Williamsburg as well. Only a short time after the California Tortilla closed in New Town Qdoba Mexican Grill is opening on Richmond Rd . A sign on the door indicated an opening date of April 11, 2011.
The restaurant is in the new City Green center developed by local developer Demetrios Florakis. City Green is adjacent to Williamsburg Shopping Center ( Bloom, Sal’s BY Victor, Books A Million, Ace Hardware, Radio Shack, Fedex-Kinkos and more).
The restaurant joins Dominos Pizza and Dancers Boutique at City Green and features an outdoor dining area.
Qdoba describes itself as an artisanal Mexican fast-casual restaurant that uses fresh ingredients, bold flavors and an innovative menu. Founded in Denver, Colo. in 1995, Qdoba is among the nation’s largest Mexican fast-casual franchise chains with more than 500 restaurants in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
Qdoba will go head to head with a host of other Mexican restaurants in Williamsburg VA including Plaza Azteca, La Tolteca, Tequila Rose, Taco Mexicali, Chipotle, Moe’s
