The Classics Series

The eight-concert Classics season is filled with audience-appealing classical favorites showcasing composers much loved by JoAnn Falletta and Symphony audiences. “We’ve included some of your all-time favorites – thrilling repertoire like Mussorgsky/Ravel Pictures at an Exhibition, Respighi Pines of Rome, Beethoven Symphony No. 7, Schubert Symphony No. 9 and Mozart Requiem,” stated VSO Music Director JoAnn Falletta. “We will be joined by a galaxy of stars from violin virtuoso Chloe Hanslip to piano superstar Jon Kimura Parker to extraordinary double bassist Edgar Meyer,” she continued. “This is truly a season not to miss, and one that you will always remember!”

The five-concert POPS! series once again offers a little something for everyone. “We’ve definitely hit our stride delivering what audiences tell us are wonderful entertaining programs that only the Virginia Symphony Pops can present,” stated VSO President and Executive Director Eric Borenstein.

In 2012- 2013, the POPS! series will be also presented at the Ferguson Center in Newport News.
