Mr. Williamsburg, do you happen to know of any communities that have kayak access to the river (or a lake) as part of their community?
Two communities in our area offer both townhomes and river or lake access. The first is Kingsmill with both a lake and access to the James River and College Creek. Kingsmill has some new townhomes planned for future construction but has not yet released the details or planned start dates.
Stonehouse has a small lake for kayaking with a storage rack for homeowners. They also offer townhomes with new construction planned for the future. . Stonehouse They also offer small lot detached homes (Orchard Hill) some of these have lawn maintenance taken care of by the HOA. So its not much different than living in a town homes. Down the road Stonehouse has a marina proposed on the York River..(This could take 3-20 years) but it is in the Stonehouse Master plan.
There is a town-home community called Foxfield in the Jamestown area that is less than a mile to the Jamestown Marina (where you can store Kayaks), Jamestown Beach and Powhatan Creek ( great kayaking ) Very few townhomes have sold there thru the years though..
Gloucester has a condo community (Dockside Condos) with a community pier and water access to Sarah’s Creek and the York River. Condos there sell in the lower $200’s There is also River Club @ Twin Island with access to the York River.
