Ford’s Colony Hosts 25th Anniversary Parade this weekend

A parade will be held this Saturday October 13th to Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Fords Colony

The parade  honors Ford’s Colony’s residents who are active duty military,  veterans and its community volunteers which number in the hundreds.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA The parade will start at 1:00 PM along Williamsburg West Drive starting at the gate off Longhill Road and concluding with a ceremony (EMCEED BY AL WOODS) at the Westbury Pool where Ford’s Colony military heroes and volunteers will receive the accolades they deserve.

The long range weather forecast is for partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the mid 60s and no wind. Bring your chairs, blankets and picnic baskets and enjoy this beautiful, celebratory day
It’s a “don’t miss happening” at Ford’s Colony. Come cheer for the 10 Grand Marshalls, all WW II veterans, riding in beautiful cars supplied by Fords Colony  residents and some of their Auto Enthusiasts. The massed color guards of the James City County Fire and Police Departments will lead the parade followed by  active duty military and veterans, an element of the Colonial Williamsburg Fife and Drum Corps, many of resident clubs and volunteers waving flags and carrying banners, and the marching Band of The Lafayette High School Rams.

Want to go?

The parade starts at 1 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 13, along Williamsburg West Drive. It is open to the public, but parking is limited. Plan to arrive at or before 12:30 pm.
