Homearama, the TBA (Tidewater Builders Association’s) semiannual showcase of new homes, starts today 6/16/2012 @ the Culpepper Landing community in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Culpepper Landing previously hosted the Fall 2009 Homearama and featured 12 homes, ranging in price from about $350,000 to more than $500,000.

Since then, the community has grown and now includes row houses, a clubhouse that’s home to an Olympic size pool and work out facility. The community also features 150 acres of conservation area adjacent to the Great Dismal Swamp.
Lot prices range from $100,000 to $125,000.

Three of the eight houses in the bi-annual showcase of homes put on by Tidewater Builders Association have already sold.
Culpepper Landing’s architectural style – cottage-style homes and inviting front porches – recalls a time when people socialized with their neighbors, frequented nearby shopping centers and stuck close to home for family and fun.
People are also enjoying the neighborhood’s price-point. When complete, Culpepper Landing will feature 740 single-family homes, 355 row houses, villas and multi-family homes, along with 40,000 square feet of commercial space. Single-family homes, which average 2,580 square feet, range from the high $200,000s to the mid-$500,000s.
As for Homearama, which runs today through July 1,2012 the five remaining homes cost from $429,000 to $499,000.
Since 2009 much has changed in this 488-acre neighborhood near the historic village of Deep Creek, the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Preserve, the Intracoastal Waterway and a 160-acre preservation area.
In addition to the burgeoning population, more amenities have opened, including the aquatic center and clubhouse.
Other draws include a water park, a work-out room, a dog park, children’s play areas, nature trails and 16 planned pocket parks and a community garden center.
The community’s social committee is busy planning Bunco games, Super Bowl parties and poker nights. All are covered by a homeowners association fee of $49 per month.

Take I-64 to Chesapeake. Take the Rt 17 South, Deep Creek exit (Exit 296B). At second stop light continue straight, you will be on Mill Creek Parkway. Stay on Mill Creek Parkway through the Mill Creek Development. Upon reaching Culpepper Landing follow signs for Homearama parking. The site is approximately 2 miles from I-64.

Sales have been steady at Culpepper Landing in 2011 with 22 detached home sales in the last 12 months and four under contract. Prices have ranged from $490k to $314k. Townhome/ row houses at Culpepper landing totaled four in 2011 with those priced ranging from $268k to $275k for 2073 square foot row homes.
