The Carriage Homes at Williamsburg Commons is a lovely community of 156 carriage homes at the end of Commons Way off of Route 60 By-Pass Road in York County > This hidden community is nestled against the city limits of Williamsburg.
Carriage Homes won the York County Beautification Award for 2007. It has a beautiful entrance wall and wide pear tree and crape myrtle lined streets. It is an easy walk or drive to the College of William and Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. Many consider it one of the best kept secrets in the Williamsburg, VA area.
All of the homes offer first floor living with master bedrooms on the first floor as well as living, dining, kitchen. Some of the models offer lofts on the second floor or a loft plus a bedroom and additional bath. Making for a nice guest suite for out of town guests. The soaring cathedral ceilings make them feel much more spacious than they are.
In addition to offering nearly 2,000 square feet of living space, quite a few of the Carriage Homes offer scenic wooded views and beautiful natural landscapes. The Carriage Homes at Williamsburg Commons are the perfect answer for the traveling RV enthusiast with it’s secure location to park recreational vehicles.
The builder (Williamsburg Homes ) offered four different models with various elevations. Houses are built as duplexes
All of the models have security systems, large eat-in kitchens and one car garages. All but the Randolph have first-floor master suites. Homes were custom built to buyer specifications with options that included : screened porches, sunrooms, walk-out basements, wet bars, bookcases and shelves, custom baths, extended garages, crawl space or solid foundation, workshop rec room and decks with hot tubs.
Patios were standard on flat lots and decks were standard on rolling lots. Covered private entries and gas log fireplaces in the family rooms were also standard.
Models offered included the Randolph with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. It features a foyer, patio, laundry room and optional entertainment center. The second-floor master suite also has a large walk-in closet. The formal living room is open to the second floor.
The Henry was another popular three-bedroom, three-bath model. The master suite and second bedroom are both on the first floor, along with a linen closet and optional laundry area. The dining room and great room, with fireplace and optional built-in shelves, are open to the second floor. The second floor featured a third full bath, open loft area and third bedroom with a walk-in closet with an entrance to the attic.
Activity groups within the community range from a Stitching Sisters Group: For those who just love to knit, crochet, cross-stitch, quilt, or sew.a Book Club, Annual neighborhood Picnics and more. An active Social Committee organizes and conducts social activities of interest to the residents of the Carriage Homes community.
