I recently discovered a wonderful free resource for walkers and runners in the Williamsburg Va area. ” Great City Walks” is a guide of walking trails in the City of Williamsburg .The guide a 20 page booklet available for free as a download here and on the city of Williamsburg website was created by the Williamsburg City Manager’s Office, the Parks and Recreation Department, and their GIS staff – It details seven different walking trails that highlight interesting historic sites throughout the city. www.williamsburgva.gov. This guide has numerous local sponsors including including the Williamsburg Farmers’ Market, the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance, and the Williamsburg Regional Library. Their support of this project is greatly appreciated.
The City of Williamsburg, Virginia offers the urban hiker trails of historic and cultural distinction. So put your walking or running shoes on and explore our wonderful city.
The seven trails are Cityside Loop, Landing to Landing Trek, Quarterpath Spur, Bassett Hall Trace Loop, Longhill Loop, Waller Mill Trails and the William miles to almost and Mary Loop range in length from 1.75 miles to almost 9 miles.
