Starting today, smoking is banned in most bars and restaurants across Virginia. The legislation, signed by Gov. Timothy M. Kaine in March, allows patrons to smoke only on a restaurant’s outdoor patio or in a separate smoking room with its own ventilation system.
Virginia is joining join 23 states that ban smoking in restaurants. Owners and diners who violate the ban will face a $25 fine.
Some restaurant patrons ( Me) look forward to returning home from a night out and not smelling like an ashtray.
Some local restaurants and clubs have found a way around the ban and were able to add an additional room or convert outdoor patios into smoking areas.

No one ever had to go home smelling like smoke because the vast majority of places were already smoke free. It’s nice that non smokers always had this choice. Too bad some feel that smokers don’t deserve it as well.

if this helps anyone.
smoking should bee band completely and if it was up to me I would sue the stupid tobacco company since if it was not for them I would not be sick right now and others would not be dying of lung cancer because of second hand smoke and all public places should be smoke free since smoking is a choice and if I choose not to smoke cause I want to be healthy why would I let some one who don’t care for their life come ruin mine. so if all you smokers want to kill yourself faster stay in your house and smoke yourself to death alone don’t include me or all those who don’t want or choose not to smoke.
